"Mercury Meltdown Revolution? Haven't we done that one?" I thought as I was reading the 1001 list. Blah blah, yada yada, "Revolution is essentially the same game with some additional levels, but it is also the definitive version thanks to the control afforded by the Wii's Remote."
Why the hell would you tell me I've got to play Mercury Meltdown if you're then going to say that it's Revolution that you've got to play. Revolution doesn't even have it's own Wikipedia entry. It's lumped into the Mercury Meltdown article, you know, what with it being essentially the same game.
Ooh, I'm irked. This'll be a quick one...

Fun Times
Plays much like Mercury Meltdown, only with a Wiimote. Mostly works. Doesn't feel that bad to balance a Wiimote instead of nudging an analogue stick. If you like that, good for you.

Frustrations
Basically identical to Mercury Meltdown, but looks a little fuzzier and sounds a little more compressed for some reason. Can we blame dusty cables for that?

Final Word
It's the same game, but with motion controls that make more sense than analogue sticks. It's as though you should play Mercury Meltdown Revolution and not Mercury Meltdown. Funny that.
If you want balancing puzzles involving coloured blobs of mercury across hundreds of challenging stages, then Mercury Meltdown Revolution is the only game you should be looking for. But I got bored early on. It's not for me. And nor was it for me the first time it was on this 1001 list.
Fun Facts
I used a fact about Archer Maclean's Mercury last time, so here's another one: The developers wanted a peripheral for the PSP to add tilt sensors, enabling the entire handheld to be turned into a motion controller. I guess they finally got their wish for Revolution.
Mercury Meltdown Revolution, developed by Ignition Banbury, first released in 2007. Technically.
Version played: Nintendo Wii, 2007.
